Therapy aimed at treating sexual dysfunction addresses various issues affecting sexual health and function. Sexual dysfunction can encompass a range of concerns, including vaginismus, vulvodynia, and erectile dysfunction. These conditions can impact an individual's sexual functioning, self-esteem, and overall quality of life. Therapy for sexual dysfunction seeks to understand and address the physical, emotional, psychological, and relational factors contributing to these issues.

Clients that struggle with sexual dysfunction often report a sense of hopelessness about their capacity to have satisfying sex lives. I work with my clients to gently explore the factors impacting their sexual functioning, which often includes anxiety, perfectionism, issues with control, medical/biological causes, and trauma. Through dismantling and releasing shame, learning effective communication skills, increasing self-esteem, and learning practical tools to enhance enjoyment of sexual experiences for all partners involved, clients can reclaim a sense of enjoyment around their sex lives.
